Because of the significant shortage of worldwide aid funding, our water filter manufacturing operation in Washington, Sunderland has now been closed down and we have agreed to transfer production rights of our Family and Community Filters to our long term colleagues and friends at Aquabox, a charity which is based in Derbyshire.

Aquabox will start manufacturing the Mk 5 Family and Community Filters in a few months time and they will be distributed through their well established channels throughout the world.

This agreement will ensure that production of our filters continues for the foreseeable future and that the good work of Grifaid and The Safewater Trust continues to bring clean water to those who need it.

We wish Aquabox well in taking over the manufacturing operation.

Our Washington Factory is now closed but we still have substantial stocks of our Mk 5 Family Filters which are available to purchase at a much reduced price from as little as £20 per unit ex works (less than 50% of the normal price) depending on quantities.

The filters in stock are all brand new and fully tested during the manufacturing process.

These filters have proved to be robust and effective at producing clean water in the field with minimal maintenance arrangements and no requirement for chemicals.

We have evidence from our field visits that some of our filters are still functioning after 8 years of use.
